Purpose
To promote a lively and informed debate, discussion about Auckland’s new governance structure…with a particular focus on how to optimise the outcomes for Maori in Auckland and New Zealand in the new structure.

Facilitator Brief Bio:
Shane Taurima is an award winning journalist who has worked in print, broadcasting and electronic media for the past 14 years. He is currently Editor of Te Karere and was instrumental with the re-format and re-launch of the half-hour bulletin. He spent 12 years in the Parliamentary Press Gallery, covering the cut and thrust of Maori politics, including four general elections. Shane also presented TVNZ’s Maori current affairs programme, Marae for 8 years.
