I am just going to put another one out there about a new business model which is emerging in the digital space. Lets call it: “The New Google Business Model? Modular Integrated Software as a Service.”

The case is the close relationship between Xero and GeoOp.

1. Xero Live on Google Finance.
2. GeoOp on Google Finance.

Lets call Xero Live the ‘mothership’ and GeoOp the modular ‘shuttle’. Geop and other companies develop their own business apps to lock into the core financial model and processes of the organisation. Pretty seamless evaluation of value in a business model with an organisation and outside.

This business model approach is a bit like the Apps for smart phones. Xero Live is the Smartphone hub – geop being the app….I guess you get it now.

Why is this important? because the processes and financial data etc. is within Xero.

This aims to be highly profitable in many ways. Lets see, Wow, this space is getting exciting!!
